Cabot is the top scorer. Its tight seat and back made upright work, edge sitting, and standing up easier than on the deeper models. It is the strongest choice if support and routine surface cleanup matter more than plushness, though its price is steep and the aniline leather will record everyday wear.

Highline is the best all-around buy. Cabot edges it out on the scorecard, but Highline's shallower seat, loose cushions, and lower price work for a broader mix of work, TV, and casual hosting. Cabot delivered the most structured sit. We measured 23.9 inches of usable depth and an 18-inch unloaded seat height. Under the same tester, the seat settled to 16.9 inches, only 1.1 inches of compression. Highline's 4.3/5 still makes it the broader recommendation: its more accommodating depth and lower price fit more mixed-use homes. Begin with the posture you use most. Choose Cabot for upright work, easy standing, and quick crumb or fresh-spill cleanup. Choose Highline when several people with different habits will share one sofa. Silverlake suits taller sitters and anyone who wants a deeper seat without committing to separate modules. Nest is the clear choice for curling up or lounging as a couple, provided the room can take its 96-inch width and you are comfortable with frequent vacuuming and cushion shaping.

None of these models does everything equally well. Silverlake and Nest can feel too deep during upright work, especially for shorter legs. Cabot supports posture best but costs much more, feels less plush, and will show natural leather wear. Highline is the easiest compromise, yet its loose cushions still need maintenance. None is the obvious choice if removable, machine-washable covers are essential.

Article Sven: The 88-inch Sven is the value alternative for shoppers who want a recognizable mid-century silhouette. It costs substantially less and comes in fabric, bouclé, velvet, and leather, but its tufted bench seat and fixed format do not provide Silverlake's adjustable support or Nest's modular flexibility.

West Elm Harmony: Harmony is the softer, more configurable alternative to Highline and Silverlake.
